How to install the reusable hose end

To begin, secure a reusable hose end socket in the firm grip of a bench vice.

Next, insert one end of the hydraulic hose into the fitting held by the vice. Rotate the hose counterclockwise, threading it into the socket until it reaches the fitting's base.

Apply clean hydraulic fluid to lubricate the mandrel assembly of the reusable fitting. Slide the mandrel back and forth in the socket and into the hose end to ensure a smooth connection.

Carefully push the mandrel into the socket until the assembly threads align with the socket's front edge. Use an adjustable wrench to turn the nipple nut clockwise, threading the mandrel into place. Stop when there's a 1/32 to 1/16 inch gap between the mandrel assembly's front edge and the socket's face.

With an adjustable wrench, hold the front nipple nut steady. Use a second wrench to turn the rear mandrel nut counterclockwise, completing the assembly with ease.
