Hydraulic systems generate significant pressure in the hoses and fittings as they transport hydraulic fluid through the system. The critical point lies in incorrectly installed fittings. While crimped fittings can support the pressure generated by hydraulic fluid, they are not reusable once installed. In contrast, reusable hydraulic fittings securely attach to the end of a hydraulic line and are designed to withstand intense pressure, provided they are properly installed.

How to Install the Reusable Hose End

Secure a reusable hose end socket into a bench vice with precision and care.

Guide one end of a hydraulic hose into the fitting secured in the vice. Rotate the hose counterclockwise to thread it into the socket. Continue rotating until the hose is firmly seated in the fitting.

Generously lubricate the mandrel assembly of the reusable hydraulic fitting with clean hydraulic fluid. Glide the mandrel in and out of the socket, ensuring thorough lubrication of the internal connection.

Gently push the mandrel into the socket until the assembly threads align with the socket's front edge. Using an adjustable wrench, turn the nipple nut clockwise to thread the mandrel into the socket. Cease turning when a 1/32 to 1/16 inch gap is maintained between the mandrel assembly's front edge and the socket's front face.

Stabilize the front nipple nut with an adjustable wrench. Simultaneously, rotate the rear mandrel nut counterclockwise with a second adjustable wrench to finalize the assembly process.
